The MDS Exchange monitors the IQIES system for the 5 Star reports and will alert you to changes, opportunities and potential problems. Reviewing the IQIES system weekly for any reports and any letters that may be pending.
CMS Quality Measure/Reporting systems are public information available to your consumers. The MDS Exchange provides these as requested from the IQIES system. Updated Preliminary and correctable reports are provided as they are made available. The MDS Exchange Specialist will provide potential triggered items and trends as these are reviewed.
With the complexity of ICD-10 coding, the MDS Exchange has certified specialists in coding and utilizes advance software to assist in determine accurate coding. With PDPM and State Case Mix programs initial coding is an essential part of the capturing your level of care.
With the MDS Exchange, your coordinators are AAPACN certified and have a knowledge of Medicare and MDS requirements. The MDS Exchange provides team or individual training for each community in which it partners. These include individual training on specific MDS sections for Dietary, Social Services, Activities, Therapy, Business Office, and Admissions. We also provide ADL reviews and training for care givers. Additional trainings include Medicare Basics, Certification, Notices and Care Plans.
